1.5Mb or 7Mb internet service

I'm using cable and paying for 7Mb service. They offer 1.5Mb service for $19 cheaper. Mostly I surf the forums and view videos. Never any games or music downloads.

Trying to decide if I should downgrade my service. Anyone running 1.5Mb? Any problems?

Realtime stuff would be more of an issue for the low speed connection. (like gaming)

I have 1.5 DSL at the house and it's acceptable. My usage habits seem to be similar to what you describe. $19 saved is $19 saved, after all!

I run 1.5 mb DSL at home and have no problems at all. I play X-box live and run three workstations together all the time. I have Embarq and it runs 24.95 a month with my bundle I can get 3.0mb for 29.95 but just can't see the reason. I usually get around 600 k upload and about 1.45 m download. Can you switch back to higher speeds for free?
