I was thinking how cool it would be if there was a history of FF.com link? We have a link to the history of the car, why not this great site? I'd imagine alot of us newbies would like to know how this community came to be what it is today. I send a good deal of time here and theres no way I would be as into my car as I am without you guys. Whatda think?

No doubt that would take some work to pull together, but for relative newcomers like myself, it certainly would be interesting reading. Great idea.

I think it is do able, as many of the cast and characters are still around.
The recent history, last year or so will be easiest.
Then, we would move under DJ's command, which will require a number of individuals mostly ADMINS and MODS who were likely privaleged to info regular member were not!

Here's an idea that I got from watching Dean at Ohiostiva VII... he went around interviewing everyone who wanted to participate, getting them to tell their own story about their car(s). I suppose something similar could be done with the history of FF.com; ask the "playeurs de mejor" to supply a synopsis in their own words instead of trying to pull together a singular coherent body of work, a "FF.com Authorized Reconstruction of the Timeline" (aka, "FART", if you will), from many disparate sources...

I know FF.com was started by Rich Norman in the mid 90's. Some of the early festiva articles and mods were made by Rich I don't know a whole lot of the history back then I had read FF.com but wasn't very active. Right around 2000 is when Dj Hayek took over running FF.com and started making changes all for the better of the site. He added a new forum and around 2006 he again upgraded the site to the last forum we had. Dj is the man responsible for the Festiva festival in MI. Many of the how to articles came from Dj, some other great articles came from a member named Wil Fellows (Gro harlem) Dj passed away suddenly on April 13th 2007. In May of 2007 Dj's wife asked me to take over FF.com and keep it running as Dj had visioned, Dj and myself had many late night calls telling me ideas he had. This spring I upgraded the site to V bullitin. I hope the future of FF.com can continue to grow! Simon might be able to fill in more of the details I know I missed, Simons car (Pimptiva) was probably the most well known Festiva for years, and he was the first Administrator beside the previous owners. We thought Simon had left the Festiva world when he parted out Pimptiva, But it was in his blood and he returned to the Fesiva community with Djs old car Casper. He is building his car better and faster then his previous Festivas and I for one and glad he came back! His car was the one that inspired me to fix up a Festiva!Comment
