Did a search of Ztech with no hits. So.... just returned from JY. Saw an Escort DOHC Ztech engine. Is this one of a family of engines suitable for a Festiva swap? First glance makes me think it's a bit too long (wide?)

??? no.
I can probably still find the names of the engineers that designed it back in the very late 80's / early 90's. I had a lot of powertrain engineers in my contact lists when I was at Ford.Jim DeAngelis

Heh heh.... Jim's only "slow" when his foot is on the brake pedal!
Heck, I was thinking "V-tach", like in Ventricular Tachycardia... not too good!!
Focustiva: Because I was told it was was impossible to fit a Focus bumper on a Festiva.

...you got tangled up in an electric fence when you were a kid, didn't ya?
Please tell me you didn't wire in a receiver in the microwave that responds to the garage door remote...

The microwave isn't tied to the garage door opener (yet), but I did replace the TV remote with a stun gun... It's fun to watch him try to change the channel!Jim DeAngelis

Stun Gun as TV remote, AKA: "Let's see what's on The De-fib Channel..." ZZZAP!
I'd keep an eye out on the Festiva, if I were you. Might find all 4 tires Poli-Gripped to the asphalt one day.
Ahhh, yes the good old daze: ethelyne glycol with a brake fluid chaser. Brain Freeze for dat red-hot meat!
