  • Are all Festivas wired for the tach cluster?

I was under the impression that they were. I have a tach cluster for sale on ebay and someone sent me a comment correcting me that they are not all wired for the cluster. So am I wrong by saying that it is a plug and play in all Festivas?

That was me. They are not all wired for it. My '88 was but my '89 wasn't. It's not a big deal if it isn't prewired you just have to add one wire.

I was just trying to see if I needed to edit my listing or not. Thanks for the info.

You could possibly edit to state that on some Festivas a wire has to be added to make the tach work. But that on most it is plug and play. But honestly anyone looking probably already knows it.

Some of the early cars (88-89) were not wired. It seems the cars that did NOT have rear window defrost are not wired for tachs.

has anybody else ran into the problem with the fuel gauge working backwards after this swap?

I looked into the differences between the early 88&9 cars and later FI. They ARE wired different on some of the functions on the cluster. Changes may be needed to make everything work correctly from orange face to white face & visa versa. This comes from the EVTMs.
