  • Rock Auto - Spicer parts

I just got a 97 escort and it will be needing a tie rod. Rock Auto has them for $5.91 and th brand is Spicer. This is 1/2 the price than advance auto and less than all the others listed for my car on Rock Auto site.

Anyone have any experience with this brand? Junk or not?

Spicer? Part of the Dana corporate umbrella, premier manufacturer of driveline and suspension components. It's so cheap, because they were the OEM for that part!

DANA/ Spicer is top of the line stuff, they make alot of the transfer cases / rears for GM Ford and Chrysler trucks.
            money pit

No spitters were I work, you swallow it all. The Company feels if you already have it in your mouth why waste it.

matt i bought new tierod ends for my festiva and spicer was the brand. i was happy when i noticed they actually had a grease fitting. the one i bought at autozone did not. i have no problems with it. seems strong enough to me.

nothing but good times with anything from spicer. i think they're better than TRW (longer mean time to failure)

Wow! I may need to do another RA order soon. There may be another suspension swap in my nearer future.

May as well buy two or three sets. They will eventually wear out.
