I prefer a handsewn, leather wrapped, Italian made steering wheel by Momo.
It's the kind they put in Ferraris.
Just install it with a Momo Mazda adapter.
Joe , I installed a RX7 steering wheel in mine recently , it fits fine , just a little closer to the levers , not sure what year it came out of ...Calling Will (elcamino1) , what year was that out of ??

yes, i got my rx-7 3rd gen to work.... it will physically fit ok, no problems. the problem comes in when you want the horn to work. you know on the festiva stock there is that plunger-like thing that touches the circular steel piece on the stock festiva's wheel? well, on the 3rd gen rx-7 wheel, it does not touch and therefore the horn doesn't work..
here is what i did, i actually made a piece (out of a HUGE washer) and made it work. horn works like a charm. all that plunger does is it needs a ground and the horn goes off.
let me know how this goes.
