My Son got me a real nice Garmin for the Birthday ..WOW

I have used it the last 2 days and I am really impressed , we took about a 80 mile round trip for dinner tonight and learned something new every few min.

    LOL ..

I had no idea it actually tells you you location on screen , and actual and avg speed and max speed reached .Time to get there Actually tells you the street names.
    Picture viewer ?? WHY ..LOL

I know some of you have used them for a long time , I never had used one at all .
I thought it would be nice to have it on this trip , this Month .

i got the nuvi 200 a few weeks ago, and i love it. its definitely worth every penny paid for it. i need to carry it for the next few weeks as construction is going to be started anytime on my normal route to work so i may need to detour lol. i took a 70 mile round trip to olathe and it was spot on, and i found out my trucks spedo is ~5mph slow lol.

^^ Sweet !! looking forward to seeing that .

I did look at the Tom Tom XL , but was not sure what I wanted .
The guy said this one was supposed to have blue tooth answer on a touch of the screen and a mp3 player , nowhere does it say in the book about that , don't really need it anyway , I am still happy with it .

no no no....I used to think the same thing. But when you want to go somewhere you never have been before....like searching for that new Festy....all you do is enter the destination instead of writing it down and hoping you got it right and turn at the right places.....man it comes in real handy. Not to mention it cantell you how fast you are going , approximate arrival time...miles to go.....the list goes on and on. Oh....not to mention Geocaching if you are so inclined and buy a model that you can enter latitude and longitude.

Its great not asking for directions :-) I have a Mip P550 pda with GPS, Miomaps is great at recalulating your route if you need to make a detour, it does have its quirks like when you want to go someway you know, but it keeps trying to take you another way to get to the same place. But once you get used to it you learn how to mulnipulate it (sp). Also great about a PDA gps you can add programs for Geocaching, and listen to music while you drive with MP3s.

                          Logan

I still prefer a good copilot that can read a road atlas, makes the trip more fun.

I have THE use for a gps. All doubters step down. Here it is. Every time I'm in a rural area or somewhere unfamiliar and I pass a car of interest. I hit the car icon on the screen and save the location as, for instance, brake swap. sometimes you can't stop right then. Maybe it's late or maybe you did stop and they were at work. next time you are in the areaa you can try again. I have a few festys, brake swaps, and a justy saved in my gps.
