Here is a pic of a hitch packrat had for a festiva.

Here are some pics of the hitch I was thinking about using. Two mounting holes in the spare tire well and a third ( with fabbed bracket ) in the flat part of the unibody under the rear bumper as seen in the silver parts car.

        Howdy eh!

If it might inspire ideas, I'll be happy to post a couple pics of my hitch set up. I found it on a Festiva in a wrecking yard in Idaho. I believe it's a standard type of hitch (as in, not designed JUST for a festiva) that just happens to line up more/less perfect with the "hooks" they hang down from the "frame". (Also, I do believe the 90-93's only have these hooks. I had to add them to my 89 for some reason. I might be wrong about this) The hooks I'm talking about have one large bolt, and then tack welded above those. What I did was unbolted them, cold chiseled the weld (easy, come's right off) then welded the hooks to the hitch, then bolted and welded back in place. I side from losing strenth via rust, I'm sure it's safe and strong enough. I've towed two metros and another festy so far, thousands of miles, with no problems. If one was REALLY wanting to make it bullet proof, they could fasten it as I did, then weld further bracket/supports up to the bottom of the bumper (removing some of the cover first) allowing the rear bumper to make it even stronger.

My experience with using a festiva to tow has been nothing short of personally amazing! Nothing I know of will get 40mpg while towing another vehicle nearly the same weight and size.

I hope this helps. Again, if you could use some pics, just say the word.

        Brenton
        Because....45 MPG.

              Towbar

Our Festiva came with a Duncan Towmatic towbar bolted to the frontend. We've towed it coast to coast numerous times. Duncan doesn't seem to be in business anymore but the bars are occasionaly on E-Bay. The adapters are still stocked by most RV shops...

If anybody sees or talks to Brenton aka. Festyxfi, tell him to post some pics of his hitch setup. I saw it in person, even crawled underneath his ride, but can't remember what it looked like. And they said those things I did in high school wouldn't have any ill affects in my later years.
