you can list what car or not but as scrap, some people do like to know though, and if its really full or not, they want full as possible, most melt down for the platinum in it.

I have had good success selling mine. I list the vehicle it came off of and helps bring the price up. I always make sure I have that EPA stuff in my listing and it has never been a problem.

Look at other people auctions...there will usually be a disclaimer stating this cat is for recycling only and cannot be re-installed on his/her vehicle without a re-cert.

            List your auction like this:

Scrap Converter, Platinum recovery ** Import or domestic **

In the discription Write honda van, or toyota car. Tell the buyers that this cat is for SCRAP/RECYCLING purposes only. Demension and weights of cats also bring sale higher. A lot of people cut the flanges off to save on shipping weight.

I've sold 6-7 of them now on ebay none of them brought less than 91 without shipping.

Another tip don't list shipping to high...keep it at 13-16 dollars. The recyclers will bid more on the product itself. I've had a cat from a honda civic sedan go for 151!! And a pair from a 77 LTD II go for 230!

              Stefan,
As this unit is to be scrap, would it be possible to cut the flange off that has the 2 stainless steel studs and send them my way?
I need the studs to replace some on an otherwise OK converter.
Actually only need the studs, but easiest to cut the flange than to try and cut ears off flange containing the studs.

your local Caterpillar Dealer probably has studs for exhaust systems, ie part number 8T7044
Aspires and Sways all around, Miata B6 installed, KYB G2Rs just installed in front. Wish for coil overs someday.
