Awesome!!
I got very similar mpg once... we were moving from PA to VA, almost 500 miles. I had my car loaded down (rear tires were in the fenders!), my brother and I in the front seats, a bunch of boxes in the back, and 3 bikes on a bike rack on the hatch. I was following my dad in a u-haul truck, at about 55mph, all night long. He was going slow b/c the brakes weren't working right on the truck. I got 53 mpg! when i got from PA to VA and still had a little gass left (no fillups) i was worried even though I was indicating still a little left... no need to worry!~Nate

Nice. Ive still got bad wheel bearings, I can hear them howling a bit now. Ive also got a bad passenger cv joint. I need to get that all fixed and then I wanna do some aero mods.
Hows that SVO of yours do? I was getting about 25-30 average in my turbo coupe, and have gotten as much as 34 mpg on the highway. Now Ive got a motor with a roller cam and t3/t4 to swap in that might do even better now.91GL BP/F3A with boost

I wouldn't think that sitting higher would necessarily hurt the aero. It more or less depends on how smooth the under-body is. An air-dam only helps to keep friction from a rough under-body down.. Sitting higher might even be an advantage.
I've been thinking about adding a engine compartment body pan to mine. Don't know if it's worth it to a car that already gets good mileage, but it might aid acceleration and ride comfort a bit.

SVO is great....hardly driven. Sold my '86 Turbo Coupe 2 years ago with 251,758 miles on it!! Best tank of 32mpg in the 'Bird. The SVO gets around 25 mpg. One thing about driving a Festiva daily...it makes the SVO feel like a rocket when I do drive it!! 2.3 turbos are awesome little motors....1986 Comp Prep SVO Mustang(1 of 83) Four cylinder turbo! i got near 60 in my 1990 L efi between bakersfield and chico 2 years ago, real tired and cruising along at 55-60, roughly 2500 to 2800 rpm, i went almost 500 miles on 8 gallons of fuel, stopped because i thought the gauge broke, my subaru is an excellent example of modern aero, its the 2.5 turbo model, and ive reflashed it for a more aggressive tune, still can get a steady 26 mpg highway out of it at a steady 70. it has a pan across the entire engine bay, plastic deal, access door for the oil, and panels on the floorpan to either side of the driveline tunnel, along with a rear pan that comes out flush with the rear diff, this also makes it noticeably quieter than other cars in its class that dont have these items. im looking into making a full pan for my latest festiva, just haveing a difficult time figureing out how to direct air thru the center tunnel so the exhaust doesnt cook the interior and i dont disrupt flow thru my radiator, dont really want to vent the hood on something with only 70 hp.is not sposed ta do that...

have to look that up thanks, the one main idea ive been looking at is ducting the radiator along the hood and out at the windsheild, ill have to space the hood from the hinges most likely, but i know it works extremly well because my eclipse was done that way when i bought it, the hot air also keeps the windsheild from fogging or icing over as easily, im also looking at how to shape the entry and exit on the center tunnel so it draws air, i know i need high pressure on the engine side and low pressure on the axle side, but im not sure how to do that yet.is not sposed ta do that...
