  • My festiva adventure this morning

I called a number off of Craigslist the other day. The person had two festiva five speeds for sale. Called him only to find the trannys had been sold for $100 each , but that he had some other festiva parts that he was needing out of his garage. It was about 60 miles from me so I drove down there this morning and meet Bob and his festiva. Both very nice. Bob has a sweet aqua colored festiva with an aspire brake swap, low mile aspire motor and tranny, and believe it or not just like my car, aspire front seat swap. He is also running escort steelies and FMS struts. He let me drive his car and it was very tight, tracked good, etc but I was more impressed with the aspire motor it was really throaty and had good power. I’ve got an aspire motor with 60,000 on it sitting in the garage so it was good to see someone who had made the conversion. He just used the long block with the festiva intake and aspire headers. Very nice festiva, I wanted it. Clean and well maintained. His son drives a festiva too.

Some of the parts I bought from him

A nice set of alloys, probably the best Ive seen only one small area of curb rash

    A white faced tach :

An aspire brake swap set up :

And he gave me six real nice center caps.

It was really nice to meet another festiva enthusiast Esp. one who takes such care and pride in his ride. He was up on the site and FMS and knew all about festivas we had a good talk. It was a nice festiva adventure. Told him to stay in touch if he finds or needs some parts. You meet the best people in festivas !! Sorry I missed those trannys though.

Exactly my thoughts !! Its just plain and sweet but the wide tires give it a clean sporty look. The pics of his car dont do it justice they were taken with my phone.

The rear aspire spindles will bolt right up to the festiva torsion beams. Im not to worried about the sway bar. He said he had both ( festiva beam and aspire beam W/swaybar) and couldnt tell the difference. Im mainly after the braking and better wheel options, not to mention less work. 8^)

Marcus, I thought that the Aspire spindles had only 3 of the 4 holes that lined up on the Festiva beam. Let us know if it is a direct bolt in.

Man I cant believe it. The aspire spindle in just a hair different, its sooo close !! Why would they retool the rear torsion beam and make an insignificant change like that ????? Just a little reaming and it would go on. My upgrades arent going well these days. 8^(

I hooked up with a couple of members today. Meet Dave (the816skeet ) at a truck stop to purchace a second aspire brake swap. Then Bob ( hawg keeper ) visited the Festiva Ranch ( first member to ever stop by ) and I hooked him up with a hood to replace the one he damaged from hitting a deer. Its nice having a community like this to network in. Thanks Dave nice meeting you, and Bob I hope the hood works out for you. Ive got to meet several of the Missouri members so far. Its cool getting to know your festiva neighbors.
