Festiva Wheels

My friend's Festiva has a bent wheel, and mine has recently begun to vibrate--maybe the same problem. We were told by a local tire store that Festiva wheels are made of very light-gauge steel and bend very easily. I'm wondering whether this is actually true, and if it is, will any heavier-gauge wheel fit the Festiva?

With present fuel prices, we're both hoping to keep these cars forever.
