    (cliffnotes at the bottom)
Hey, i'm fairly new to this forum(registered a few weeks ago). I have been an escort man(have 2 91 lx's, a 92 lx-e, and a 98 se) in my very short car career(just turned 19 and the end of the month will be three year anniversary of getting my first car - one of the lx's). Well, a few weeks ago, i was at a friends house and he told me a festiva at the end of a neighbors driveway had been sitting there for a week or so. I went home and did some research on swapping the bp from my lx-e in there(since the engine is the only thing that isn't junk on that car) and found out that it is very easy. That neighbors festiva ended up not being for sale, so I've been looking for one for sale and just thought i would post somewhere letting people no who I am(i've already pm'd two people inquiring about festiva's) and to get out into the open that i'm looking for a festiva to swap a bp into(i would have posted in the for sale section except for the rule that you need to have 25 posts). I'm also wondering about the cloth sunroof I've seen on some festiva's on the forum. I'm pretty sure this is aftermarket and for another car so I was wondering what car it is for.

    cliffnotes:
    currently have four escorts
looking for a festiva to swap a bp into
want to know more about the cloth sunroof i've seen on a festiva or two

    91 lx 2d hatch - parts car
    92 lx-e - the quick, beat-up rustbucket
98 se - the luxury dd
    in search of a festy...
Going quickly in a slow car is more fun than going fast in a fast car, cause anyone can go fast in a fast car, but you take a car that is essentially not that powerful, and make it do things that its not supposed to be able to do, well that's where the real fun is. - Jay Leno

Welcome to the site. As long as you read the rules on posting in the for sale section and use the PROPER posting codes....you are more then welcome to post in there. If you have any questions feel free to contact a mod or admin for help.
The top you speak of is called a funtop and did come on some Festy's. More overseas then here. You can get one still if you really search for them and are willing to pay for shipping. There are aftermarket ones but I do not know the name of the place....others here do.
    Good luck on your search.
Oh....one more thing...please add your location to your profile.....helps when asking questions and looking for items.

I don't think the ragtops were ever stock on the cars... I'm pretty sure they were dealer addons, like the stripe packages, etc.

I had one on the Pimptiva (the orange kitted, shaved, airbagged Festiva) and LOVED it... By far one of my favorite mods. If I ever find another one, it'll be going in my current car. It was such a blast to roll back that canvas top. (pimptiva.com for pictures of the car when I had it BTW)

Good luck on your search too. I love my BP swapped tiva.

Thanks for the ragtop info. However, I have trouble seeing a dealer cut out most of a cars roof and then sell it with a normal warranty. Then again, you've actually had a festy with one. I've already spent some time on pimptiva.com drooling over your pics.

now i must go to jcwhitney.com (sp?) and look at their aftermarket vdub stuff - lots of vw's had that ragtop...
