  • Fiberglass Hood Question

I'm building my own to be different and I was wondering - those with the FMS hood bolted to the hinges - how do you keep the hood open, since the glass doesnt have the rod hole?
Pictures would be appreciated but verbal is great to.

I cut down the prop rod and drilled a hole in the hinge part of the hood.

When I was using hinges, I did the same as Brian... Cut a hole in the very front of the hinge section on the hood, cut the rod down and bent it to fit.

However... I forgot to lock the pins twice and ruined the cowl twice... So I opted for 4 pins now instead.

FestivaMotorsports sells the hoods, although he hasn't been able to produce them lately. You can give him a buzz to see when he'll have more. (Website festivamotorsport.com - Call, don't e-mail)

The only picture I can find of mine is where I drilled the hole on the hood itself: http://www.pimptiva.com/index.php/gallery?g2_itemId=522

My "show stance" used those clear rods to hold the hood up, since the single rod made the hood lean/flex...

About the fms guy, does he make/distribute festiva parts as a side job?

Also have you guys ever done a group buy with him on any parts?

From what he told me when I got my hood... FMS is his full time job, he's there from 10-6 (or whatever the hours are listed on his site, I forget now)...

He's got connections is various counties to get these parts, he's imported the actual kits and stuff, made molds and produces them to sell here in the US>

He doesn't do group buys, etc. Call him, let him know what you need and he'll either have it in stock, or probably be able to get whatever you're looking for.
