Castle nuts for Festiva rear spindles from AutoZone? Are you sure? The ones they've recently told me they have are definitely NOT castle nuts. I'd dearly love to find some castle nuts so I can quit using those confounded beat-into-the-groove deformo-nuts. I would seriously like to have a little bit of security that a cotter pin setup provides!!
The RockAuto.com nuts are what we already have on the car - the "beat with a hammer & chisel" nuts, which is cool for a straight replacement. We've been trying to locate castle nuts / castellated nuts so we can drill the spindles & install a cotter pin. Thanks for the link though!
I recant, mine came from Oreilly. The reverse thread nuts were $2 more than the regular threads. They get you one way or the other. ( pun intended ) I save my one time gently used ones. The spindles with the hole in em and split pin are the best IMO.
Aspires (at least some, if not all) came w/ castle nuts, and should fit the festy threads... you may have a harder time finding reverse threaded ones though. I recommend and aspire swap. Castle nuts and removable rotors... priceless. But I think I've told you guys that before... you just don't want to listen
