I used to drive up US 97 from Weed, CA to Wenatchee, WA and all points north, and going up the center of Oregon the truckers really open up their big rigs, barreling along at over 90 mph well above the speed limits late at night.
You'd often see large darkening red stains in the middle of a lane about the size of a large American sedan, where an unlucky deer got vaporized!
I'd not had those ultra-sonic deer whistles on the VW when I hit the deer, but now put them on every thing, often as many as I can afford just to vary the musical effects in case the critters get bored with the usual repertory.(never noticed any truckers using those whistles, but haven't looked on purpose to check either?)
