  • Junkyard questions for tomorrow.

i found a mx-6 gt. it has almost the same digital cluster as a 626 turbo. should i pick this up?

and are there any other mazda clusters i could use? i saw a good many i'd like to see work.

i noticed there were a few dash clocks from tracers and 323's. could i use them if somebody sold me a festiva bezel?

and if anybody needs misc. grab handles, there's an endless supply of escorts and tempos.
    only 1 festiva......picked clean.
it'll do the 1/8 in 13.7, spin tires, and make all my drunk buddies giggle.

    digital dash cluster

The only difference between the mx-6 and 626 clusters is the colour. 626 is amber and mx-6 is green. I would suggest the 626 if you have an orange lettered dash and mx-6 if you have the white - it just flows better and looks more factory.

Those are the only digital clusters I can think of that were made by mazda - pretty much any analog cluster will work as long as it has an internal speed sensor - you can tell if it does if it has a spot to plug in your speedo cable - the fun part is getting it to fit and matching up the wiring for the tach, gas gauge, temp gauge, cluster lighting, etc, etc, etc.

check out these threads to compare the mx-6 and 626 digital clusters:

They are VERY different.... I have one of each. For one, the mx-6 one is over an inch wider.

The 323 clocks are close but not the exact same thing. Basically wont work w/o relocating the clock. The wireing is the same though. Festiva clock bezel wont help you. Dont know about the Tracer clocks.

That's right, they are different sizes - sorry I should have specified - I was referring just to the displays

If you get it cut the plugs wth about 6 inches of wire and grab the bezel also.
