  • Hatch swap

I found a nice 88LX in the junkyard that has the same color hatch as my Festiva.

Tomorrow I'm going to pick it up, but before I go I have some questions.

How hard is it get the hatch off? Anything I need to know in particular?

Is reinstalling it straightforward? Anything that needs to be aligned so that it closes snug?

How about the electrical connector? Is that in the hatch or the car itself?

    Regards,

    Tim

Hatch is easy to take off, unbolt the hinges and strut(6 bolts). The wiring is on the drivers side by the taillight wiring, once you unplug it you can pull it up through the c-pillar. Reinstallings the same, hardest part for me was running the wires through the c-pillar. Good luck!

Before you pull the old wire's out, attach a string to them to use to help pul the new wire's through.
