  • how many miles out of your exhaust systems?

I have had a few festivas and they all had one thing in common, they eat mufflers. I am luckly if I get a year and a half out of a muffler /main pipe. What kind of of milage are you guys getting??

Right now Im thinking about saying the heck with it and building a stainless pipe and muffler set up. It will cost me twice as much as a standard "rusto-special" but it should last as long as the car does.

I'm pretty sure I got a hole in my piping because of a wierd whistling sound. The previous owner bought a new exhaust system about a year ago.

Im pretty sure my exhaust is all factory. Muffler has a little surface rust and minimal leaks around where its crimped together but nothing major.

SS is by far the best way to go. Those SS mufflers are higher than a camel's hump though.

Mines all factory from 88, ha. Although, since its been sitting since October, I just start it up to move it around. I noticed a trail of rust spots on the ground the last time I moved it. Its dripping rusty water from where the pipe meets the muffler. Am I about to lose mine?

I put a new exhaust from the cat back on my first Festiva at 176k.

At 200k, when I sold it, the car exhaust was still going strong.

Could be that I used stainless for the piping, or just got lucky...
