  • Todays test drive

I took my North Carolina car for its first test drive today. The car is at my friends shop and I decided that I would take it up and down the industrial parkway and see how it drives. I haven't driven the car since I got it last Feb.
So without any plates I first drove down the parkway slowly making sure everything was working. gears, brakes, etc. Checking for the Police, I turned around (its a dead end). So I decided to see how it was at high speed! I ran it through the gears up past 75mph almost to 80mph (the posted limit is 25mph) when all of a sudden a Police car appears from a parking lot! I stood on the brakes and the whole car nose dived I went past the police at 40mph still slowing down. I started thinking of excuses because this wasn't going to be pretty. So I pull into my buddys shop and the Police just drove by! I got lucky this time!!!! No plates, no insurance, speeding it would have been bad. I can't believe he didn't see anything, I think he just looked the other way because he had othe things to do or something.

That sounds about right, wont see a cop in months until you do something unlawful then they are everywhere.

                            3 tickets

I was going uphill in an straight six Nova and the cop gave me three tickets...
one for speeding in a school zone
                            one for no license
                            one for no insurance

and then he let me go on ny own recognizance with nothing in my pockets.
I didn't have to pay the last two tickets.

                            Beat that.
