I did get off on a ticket though once that is worth mentioning... I may have posted this before here after it happened, but I can't remeember.

My girlfriend and I were driving to my cousins surprised birthday party up the road... We had stopped at WalMart before hand because that particular store sold full-face helmets and I needed one to auto-X the next day in. We stopped and I went in and made my purchase and then left. Before leaving the parking lot, I decided that I'd try on the helmet to make sure that I could drive with it on and still be comfortable.

A little backstory. I blew a tranny in halk with Casper (my white BP Festiva) and the car sat for a few weeks until I was finally able to replace the transmission. We had just got the car moving the day before, so this was the first time I had took the car out in 5 or 6 weeks.

Stuck at a redlight when my light go green, and a lady coming the other way fails to merger properly into her correct lane. So natrually I romp on it in first, slam second and blow past everyone to 3rd... When my girlfriend mentions that I just passed a cop.

Speed limit was 40, he clocked me at 67 and I was still cruising up the speedometer. (Oh, and needless to say, I hadn't hooked my speedometer up at this point yet! Oops). At any rate... The thought raced through my head... My exit was 200 yards ahead of me and I was alreayd long gone, saw his lights way back in the conjestion... But, I didn't... I slowed down in a frantic attempt to remove the racing helmet from my head... He pulled up behind and off to the side I went. Once I was stopped, I was able to use both hands to get the helmet off.

He came up and asked if I knew why I was being pulled over. I said no, and he said it was for speeding. He then asked why I was wearing the helmet, and I explained that I had an autoX event the next day and was getting comfortable with it. He couldn't stop laughing, the fact that I'm in a Festiva, wearing a racing helmet.

He came back and ended up giving me a "failure to obey posted traffic signals", as it was a no-points voilation. Pay the $103.50 fine and be on with our lives. It was a HUGE break. The officer said his "cheat sheet" for fine amounts didn't even go up to 27 MPH over the limit, that it stopped at 26 over and that fine alone was $250, automatic suspension of license, 5 points, etc.

I bet the whole station was rolling with that though... A racing helmet in a Festiva. :-P

                250 km/h

A guy was caught speeding in Toronto this morning. He was clocked at just over 250 km/h
or 155 mph. They impounded his car for a week and fined him $2000 for stunt driving.

The posted speed limit is 100 km/h or about 61mph

About a year ago my son was in an accident and totaled his 07 civic. I got the call and took off...literally. Doing about 95(maybe more) down a 2 lane state road frequented by one particular state trooper. An on coming car starts flashing his headlights at me so I slow down.Turns out it was the state trooper flashing at me. Why he didn't nail me I will never Know. That 4.2 six is deceiving, it's faster than one would think and also gets worse gas mileage than one would think.

I've got one for you guys.

A while back, my girlfriend and I were driving back to my place on the highway after her hockey game and we were turning off onto a freeway. She was ahead of me in an F-150 longbox going the speed limit around the corner. I was a good distance back, in my bright yellow, obviously modded Lancer, so I decided to punch it around the corner. I reached about 155km/h, almost 100mph, when I noticed the officer in an unmarked car on the side of the road. Naturally, I slowed down, and I see him flash on his lights. I knew how fast I was going, so I knew I was going to be boned. Just then, he passes me and pulls over my girlfriend. She gets nailed with a $500 ticket and I drive away without anything. She's still fighting it to this day.

                            Nissan

That last guy going 250 kMh in Toronto a couple of weeks ago was driving a Nissan.
There was a teenager caught this morning in Toronto going double the speed limit.
Maybe they'll give hime a break. He was only clocked at 198 km/h. (123 mph) Wasn't over 200 km/h like the other guy.
