comparable mileage for carbed Festivas

I'm seeing a lot of older, carbed Festivas available. I'm wondering how the fuel economy is for the carbed models. I dont have any experience with fuel injection but i'm pretty familiar with carbs. I'm planning on driving the Festiva stock for about 6 months before starting any swaps or mods. If I get a carbed Festiva now, will it make a swap to a BP later more difficult?

I'm getting 34-38 mpg on a near 200k mile engine and 4 spd trans (no OD) and the egr valve disabled.

idk with festivas but i thinks its just more gas lines as far as i can think off hey but what the hell do i know
