I like the econoline trucks, but the rest of the cars that are listed in this thread are horrible. What are these automobile makers smoking?

The reason the car business is failing of late is these car companies manufacture cars that are to appeal to young people. And they do but with the price tag of $15,000 or more, what teenager or person in their twenties can afford that, especially with the economy in a dip. People are more focused on keeping a roof over their head than to be driving a new box shaped chevy product. They need to make cars that are sporty and sleek, that are affordable at least under $10,000. I'm not totally sure but i think the festiva was under 10 grand and if they made something like it now, it would help the auto industry from going out of business. Just my opinion, what do you guys think?90 Festiva L Auto - Parts

I admit i liked the Aztec, the old vans were cool, the original XB was nice. I also liked the Suzuki Samauri...you know...the one that flips! It was a cool box that still looks great today. http://raleigh.craigslist.org/cto/977921694.html

Another thing besides boxy vehicles, I am wondering why the best gas mileage that can be had right now with a new car is around 35-36, without buying a hybrid. The Festies are notorious for getting into the 40s in mpg and the Geo Metro got into the 50s. If we had the ability to make high gas mileage cars like the Festy and the Metro 15-20 years ago, then why can't they do it now? Surely technology has improved enough to do so without hybrid technology.http://www.cardomain.com/id/hawkdoc60
