protege lx steering column?

has anybody here used one? pros/cons?
my problem is that when i did my bp swap i moved the rack and pinion back a half inch to make room for the gm25r trans and now i have steering column bindage(spl?)

shortten the intermediate joint piece of your seering collumn. There was an episode of it on Trucks one morning.
