  • Purchased! Proud New owner.

Just picked it up this afternoon for $1000. It's a 93 with 102,000 miles. A little more than I wanted to pay but it did have relatively low miles.

This was the first Festiva I had even been withing 10 feet of. The decision was pretty easy though.

You got a really good deal if the body is as nice as it looks in the pictures.

Oooooh, Very nice. I don't think you paid too much looking at the shape it's in. Besides, you got the fancy model  (painted bumpers, mag wheels, and best of all, rear wiper. the rear windows get REALLY dirty quick when you drive at highway speeds in slush right after they sand the road) I'm envious, I've never had a rear wiper. Welcome aboard. This will probably be the most reliable car you've ever owned.

the body isn't quite as good as it looks in the pictures but it's pretty darn good. it's really fun to drive. the previous owner put a magna-flow exhaust on it so it's a little loud but probably breathes a little easier. not sure if i'll leave that on or not - sorta rattles my head.

i do notice it rocks a lot when i hit the gas. seems like the whole front end picks up 6" when i accelerate. maybe the shocks are shot?

can't wait to get it cleaned up and start making some mods. it's so much zippier than i thought it would be - gotta start re-thinking my swap plans. maybe just a B6 would be plenty instead of a BP or just leave it alone and work on tightening up the handling. i'd like to do autocross for fun and it seems like this has plenty of juice to get some good times - just too sloppy as is.

wow, that is a clean looking festiva. I still can't get over how much better the body color bumpers look.

Front and rear upper strut bars, an aspire brake swap, FMS lowering spings or coilovers (if you can find any that fit), lower profile tires (the stock festiva tires have tons of lateral flex), and some new bushings will fix your handling issues. I've only installed the lowering springs, KYB struts and front/rear strut bars, and it drives like a totally different car! No more bucking up and down during starts and stops, and much less body roll through turns. Next for me is the brake swap so I can shove some 15s in there.

you can make them from a bit of pipe if you want to, just flatten and slot the ends.

i just got the car so i dont remember where everything is, but i'm assuming this bar would kind of put a damper on fitting large items in the back with the seat down? it would go right across from speaker to speaker right?
