  • (insert curse or string of cursewords) Brake swap

Does anybody know of an online place to buy the tailing axle for an aspire since none of the bleedin' junk yards around here have one that isn't mangled all to hell.

have you looked for beater aspires? I saw one for $200, cheaper than the axle assemblies from a JY.

I guess you just have to "luck into" a rear beam assembly or a junker Aspire.

I've seen a couple of rear beams I've wanted to pick in the past six months but haven't had the time or space to do so.

I've got both front strut & brake assemblies though, a pair of new brake drums and one Aspire steel wheel, so I'm getting ready to go all the way when the time comes for Luxstiva to get her new underpinnings.

Just keep the faith and good luck! Carry your tools with you and be ready to wrench!

Hell, I can just see some poor sap leaving his house one morning and his beater Aspire is on blocks with the entire rear beam axle missing. And nothing else! He he he.

Keep in mind that's NOT an endorsement of "extra-legal car parts requisitioning."

Imagine walking into a 'yard and finding a dozen Aspires all together, with a third hit in back, a third hit in front, and the last third just conked out from engine problems! And most of them are later models!

      Ooooohhh! GOLD MINE!!

(The only thing better would be just as many 323s, EGTs, Capri roadsters and other Mazdas nearby, and a passle of junkyard cuties waiting to help you remove said parts and carry them to your car. Yeah, now I'm on crack...)

I've been keeping an eye in the classifieds. although I doubt I'll find even a broke one for cheap. some prat was selling a late model escort with a blown engine for 1200.

Roger at FMS had some new Aspire axles awhile ago, and if I remember right the price was really affordable! They were just axles no brakes.

              Do junkyard cuties exist?

I saw some pics of some in a car mag once. They were posing on top of & nearby wrecked Neons for a Neon swap article.

Then again, maybe it was trick photography. That is easily done these days.

When I go I look in trunks and underneath car bodies, but I haven't found any yet. I keep hoping though!
