Salt

Took a few pictures of my fathers 98 Dodge Durango. It's basically getting eaten by the salt. We've got a ton of snow here and it seems to keep snowing every 2 - 3 days. The colour of the car is a dark green but the car is white. I just want the winter to be over so i can bust out the GEO!:p




















Any one else having this same issue?

Yea, I just hit up the car wash once in a while. Spray it all off. Leave a lil film of ice.

it was -22*F
or -30*C

just a little bit to cold for me to wash it...

Give it a good wash and wax right before it gets cold,it will help keep some of the rust down!!!!

As the other said, washing it will help for sure, but -30 celcius is definately too cold to want to do that :lol:

Washing it will definatly help, but if it's that cold is the salt really doing much? I've always thought that as long as it's that cold out you might as well wait for it to warm up before washing it.

I hate salt and rust. They salt the roads here even if it snows 1/2 inch. Id rather take my chances with the elements.

all i do is get all the snow off the wheelwells and fenders and wipe the outside of the car by the fenders or if u have flares then the fender flares

Find one of those indoor car wash places and hose that thing down!

I'm so glad they don't use salt up here... Only sand... So our wheel wells basically get sand-blasted..

Me too, people need to learn to drive in the elements. Save the roads, save our cars and save the cost of salting. Salt just in certain areas like bridges and steep hills.

Talking about rust. I will not drive my Festiva in the winter. It will always be put away for more work every year. Next, I am going to swap out my vacuum booster. I have decided to put in my booster from L.A.
