  • How to test ....

    anyone know how to test a coil pack to see if it is good ?.I am getting no spark on my plugs.It is on a 2000 Saturn.

    Take it to Autozone. I think they can test them.

      With out a book in fromt of me.....the coil it self should be about 8Ω's on the primary side

      COils today seldom go bad....let me clarify...if the car is running...it's not the coil but may be a connector at the coil....the coil outputs are notorius for corroding.

          Stick your finger in the end of the coil wire and have someone crank it over.

            more likely, it's the coil driver that's gone bad (what the coils sit on), but the saturn coil packs (whole unit) are notorious for failing due to their location on the engine. your best bet is to test for voltage at the driver connector and then replace the whole unit.
            Trees aren't kind to me...

              The haynes manual has instructions on how to bench test them with a multimeter.
