I transplanted a 5-spd into a carbed 4-spd...makes all the difference inthe world. Kia should be shot for installing 4-spds!!Because....45 MPG.Comment

It's not rare Cwall, it's just better. The first 4 gears of a 5 speed are the same gear ratios as a 4 speed. So a 5 speed is like a 4 speed with overdrive. Equates to the motor having to turn less revolutions, equals less wear and tear, and you typically get better gas mileage with a 5 speed than a 4 sppeed and definately better mpgs than an auto.
