  • i'm so blue

i've been wanting to swap dashes for a while now. i painted a "spare" a month ago, and was just looking for some time to get the job done. well yesterday i had that time.

i ran into a few snags, who knew there was some extra plastic above the steering column? so my speed-o and column trim wouldn't fit. and i hadn't painted my glove box yet, i'll get it in this week yet.

i also painted my inside door trim red. you can barely see it in the corner of this pic.

i've got some bugs to work out, idk why my blinkers and seat belts don't work now, and i 'll have to pull my steering wheel and straighten it up.

It looks quite good so far. Where on earth did you get the big Cubs hat for the roof?

That dash you installed seem to be from a 88-89 and there is a small difference, but looks like you did a good job of painting it!

yeah it is an older dash, my car is a 91. i think i'll have most of the parts to make it work, i just didn't know before i started. i'm still not sure why my signals aren't working. i'll have to spend some time workin on it this weekend.

Here in North Dakota it is illegal to have a spinner knob on the steering wheel of a licensed vehicle. Don't know about other states but you may want to check.

                          vice grips

Never mind about a spinner knob. One guy over here got pulled over on the highway and the cop couldn't belive that he didn't even have a steering wheel. Just a pair of vice grips clamped onto the end of the steering shaft.
