The '93 that I finshed with today by removing the motor, was pulled off the motor, and taken straight to the crusher. I didn't watch. Figured I didn't need to fill my mind with unnecessary violence.

I hate to see this happening to most cars. With last summers high scrap prices, the yards in Kamloops had crushers coming by every three to four weeks!!
What a waste...I watched a few Festivas get thrown on the pile for crushing.
That is where the Festiva I'am fixing right now was saved from. I bought it and let it sit one day in which time the ashtray, drivers window winder, interior light, knobs for the rear seat latches, radio, and a few other things were stripped out of it, I'am hoping to get them from another car, but I think Festys are getting a little rarer around here. I do not see to many of them on the road.
Aspires and Sways all around, Miata B6 installed, KYB G2Rs just installed in front. Wish for coil overs someday.

Every time I go to the pick-a-part here in SoCal, I am happy to find one for parts, but at the same time I hate to see them in the jy because I know what their ultimate fate will be. And here in SoCal, these cars are usually totally rust-free! It's a shame I tells ya.
If it has boobs or wheels, sooner or later you're going to have trouble with it.

SoCal pickaparts move product thru quickly. Ive gone to a yard, taken a mental picture of where the festies were...come back 2 weeks later and theres a white one where i left it...but its a different car! Id love to fill a truck fulla west coast festy parts, take a road trip and be a festyphilanthropist.

Dean, i do not know why I just thought of this when reading this thread...I worked with a guy who bought a Festiva new and he drove the crap out of that car and never had a problem. I just remembered everybody at work knew he drove like a madman. One day he came into work on TWO wheels he came in so fast! He drove it from NC to TEXAS. He had a few accidents in it too...and only had minor damage.
