I would use TR-3 resin from NAPA. Works well for me.

You don't need a Buffer if that's what you mean.

if it has a real heavy haze, as in it was never waxed or polished since new, its going to need a compound machine buff. you may get some shine out of it by hand, but be prepared to do alot of rubbing. believe it or not turtle wax works pretty good, especially the compound. it has grits in it to take the dull layer off the paint or clear and exposes a fresh layer. after that you can use a wax to smooth it all over and have a great shine.

heres a 78 brat from AZ that i detailed. the paint was extremely dull and chalky, i never expected it to turn out so well. a machine buff was necessary

just get alow speed buffer and go to town with some 3M products. I don't trust the "wipe on, wipe off" stuff

I had a 68' VW Bus, and the ONLY way to get rid of that oxidation was buffing that thing for almost 2 hours. It was worth it though. Wipe on Wipe off most likely won't work.

Right, if it's really faded, you won't get anywhere with the "wipe-on, wipe-off" products.

You will have to actually rub out the paint, either manually or with a buffer. (this may have to wait until it gets warmer though)

Do you have any experience with auto buffers or that type of equipment?

I didn't have much experience at all, but I had a top of the line buffer. It worked amazing, made the paint look brand new.

Sorry Cwall....That question was meant for the OP (smcawc). But that Subie looks nice!

High speed polishers can be tricky if you've never used one. Very easy to burn through the paint.

No matter how hard you buff, you won't turn that blue to red. LOL

Thats a good looking 90 L plus you landed. Looks like minimal rust and dings. Nice snag, should clean up great !!! I think the 90 L Plus may be my favorite model.

That red doesn't look that bad. If you really dont want to try a buffer go down to your auto parts store and see if they have RV and Airplane wax. The stuff works great on bringing that kind of paint up to snuff and you can do it all by hand really easily.
