Yeah, it looks like it's from an old station wagon. He bolted it down and the thing is so long that he just overlapped the front and back parts of the side rails and tied them together. You could cut the back sides of the rails off (where they mount to the front and rear mounting areas) and it should work better for a Festy. I might play with it this week.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. You say that, but I'm startin' to think you don't love me anymore.

The benifit of stopping by to see me becomes greater with each Festy acquisition. It's nice to be able to pluck what you need from your own pull-a-part yard!!

It keeps gettin' better. Found another quart of oil, more change and turns out he had just installed a new fuel pump (OEM Mazda part). That explains why the rear part of the interior wasn't in the car.

I jacked it up and started ripping her apart this afternoon until some actual paying work hit. I decided to go ahead and use the rear for the trailer project. The rear suspension was good enough (for a trailer anyway). I got the balance of the interior out of the way, rear hatch and electric belt assemblies removed and the parking brake cable out (and it's good too). Tomorrow I need to drop the fuel tank and the exhaust and start chopping away!

This time I'm trying to remember to document with pics.

Any chance you would sell the fuel pump. I need one to get my new festy running

I got the tank dropped today and pulled the Fuel pump. There is paperwork in the car that leads me to believe that the pump has been replaced and the Wife mentioned that the pump had been replaced when I spoke to her the first time. It looks as though it's been in there a little while, not brand new anyway. I have another in the red '90 so I don't need this one.

The starter is practically brand new, it's shiny and clean, unlike anything else under the hood. I've never seen such a dirty, greasy engine compartment.

I got the exhaust pulled, it's been replaced from the cat back and is nice. I was able to pull it without dropping the drag-axle but it wasn't easy. The brakes are new on the front, I'll pull all of that when I get ready to haul the carcass.

Work was cut short due to the storms that rolled in this afternoon. I almost wanted to just stop and watch the rain, it's been so long since we've gotten any good rain.
