plus many other cars new and old alike. They are designed to do it. I seriously doubt that the manufacturers would let us have a car that actually runs between 4,000 and 4,500 rpm if it would explode at much more than that. That is the same as redline. There is a little leeway built in. I'm sure of it. It just makes sense to do so.

Would you drive a car, sight unseen, 1200 miles without 4th? If you were told that it might need a new transmission?

I'm sorry that it happened but I wouldn't have done it.

Well, I owned it for a day

Hey all, thanks for the (mostly) kind words. I just wanted to give it a few days prior to posting so not to potentially aggravate a buyer/seller disagreement. It is and should be between the buyer and seller and I am trying to keep it that way. (Since it was posted, I will clear up that I was not running the car at 4500-5000rpms, I don't know where that figure was pulled from.) Enough said.

Anyway, just a big kudos to Paul! What a great guy. I had called him up to see where a good place in the area would be to store the inoperative Festy. Little did I know that he would go the extra mile (actually many extra miles) to pick me up and the car up then help me out by working out a deal with his bp tracer. As stated above by jglutz..."If more people were like Paul....what a nice place the world would be!!!"

Just wanted others to know of carbonvmax's deeds and his Good Samaritan Nature. Thanks again Paul! See you at Ohiostiva!

Looks like I now have all the ingredients for the makings of an Auto/BP Festy

Not sure. I might part it out and sell the shell to Brian. I might use the shell to put my BP/G25mr into because it has no rust and my car has rust. If I was offered enough I would sell it whole. The engine is locked up though.

No that's a stock 88/89 LX shift boot storage console. They were on all the 88-89 LX 5 speeds. I have 2. I've parted out several LX's on ebay. I got $85 for the LX shift boot storage consoles a few times. This one has the tilt steering too. No cargo light, but it has the hatch latch with the cargo light switch. It also has rear wiper and rear defrost. I ususally find them with one or the other not both.
