I read the first ad a little different.

I took the "hundred thousand dollar" thing to be sort of a message that says "Hey, don't come in here with a rusty old bicycle to trade against my car, I'll trade up with cash my way but not down for some piece of junk with cash your way."

The second ad sounds like someone that wants to burn him. He may or may not have good reason, but I'd probably go look at the car and see if it's in the shape he says or if it's just a tarted-up rust bucket.
