This guy has been trying to sell this car for a couple weeks now. Wonder if it'd be a good donor or parts car.

Would this make a nice donor car?

The engine is a B6D - about 106hp. A nice upgrade, probably a little easier to swap than a BP.
I believe the trans is a step up from the Festy trans too (I think it's called an F trans), but not the more desirable G25 trans. I don't know how easy it is to swap - the axles might be a problem, someone else might be able to answer that.
Overall it's donor potential is up there with the NA Capri (if you are familiar with that). It's going to be mostly engine and trans stuff, brakes probably won't be an easy swap.
I think it would make a nice donor for a decently quick daily driver Festy, but it's not going to set any speed records.
You'd definitely notice the extra 40hp and surprise a few people with how fast it is, but it won't be crazy or overdone.
I've thought about looking for an MX3 or a NA Capri for a donor for my street Festiva. To me it seems like enough of an upgrade to keep up with most non-swapped Civics or 240SXs and it won't require some of the bigger mods required to make the BP work, like notching the frame to clear the pully or "massaging" the firewall to clear the intake manifold.
Plus the engine looks pretty cool (the MX3 B6D has a different valve cover than the Capri B6D - it looks more like a Miata VC) and I'm sure a 1.6 16v with a decent exhaust will sing a pretty song.Last edited by Jimmy812; 03-01-2009, 03:22 PM.

The B6D is not an easier swap than the BP. It is on par with the B6T swap as you need to use the wiring harness from the donor car. Also you can't use the axles from the mx-3. If you use the F-series tranny, you will need axles from a 1986-1989 Mazda 323 non turbo with manual trans. You will also have to make custom mounts just like you would with the G-series, but you don't have to deal with the intermediate shaft. The Festiva Store
