  • advice on sitting truck

    My 99 Ford Ranger has been sitting for 1 1/2 yrs.Not touched in storage.Going to get it next week.Any suggestions on what to take.I am already taking new battery,air tank for tires.Anything else you guys can think of ??It ran perfect when stored.

        If it has been sitting for only a year and a half, maybe there is gas still in there. Take a can just in case. Shouldn't need starting fluid though. I think your on the right track to getting it running.

          You should be good with what you have. Take a few gallons of fresh gas, and put that in the tank before you try to start it.

            a couple of sqirts of ATF in each cylinder a couple of days before you try to turn over the engine

            and turn the engine by hand first(6-8 times) before using the starter

            before using the starter disconnect the fuel pump and then crank the engine til you have oil pressure (or until light goes out)

            then install plugs,connect fuel and try starting the truck

            maybe change the oil, due to water condensation
            and check condition of coolant and belts and hoses

            all of this after you see above post suggestions^^^^^^^^
