maybe your mods would prefer that this go into off-topic, dunno either way just posting in here to say hey

i just recently picked up an 89 festiva 4spd. with just over 96k on the clock to replace my 88 celica DD that threw a rod

the body isnt rusted out by any means, has quite a few dents though, and the previous owner spray bombed it flat black (badly). but for 300 bucks i dont really care. had to rebuild the carb ( these carburetors are wierd as hell) and bolt on a new fuel pump this weekend, now it runs like a champ, i still have a pretty sloppy shift linkage though and next weekend ill be jacking it up to check that out.

either way just wanted to say whats up and hopefully you guys can help me out with any maintenance issues i have along the way

Welcome to the site. Be sure to fill out your location in your profile.

The shifter is just worn out bushings. Somewhere on the site there should be a thread on what part #'s you need to fix it. I've just made them at work before for my cars.

Welcome to the site. There are indeed a lot of great people on here.

This is the stately Wayne Manor from the original Batman show. It's useless information, but then again, I have a lot of useless information. LOL
