  • FREE CAR!! yee haw

Girl from work called said she was tired of her car clutch went out you can have it if you want it so I said OK. Everybody knows that I mess with cars all the time so I picked it up. Got it home and started to part it. 1st pic is the car a 92 toy corolla. The 2nd pic are the parts I can put back for the festy to use when needed. the front tires I took off she bought 3 months ago. Interior is perfect I've got a guy buying the seats from me and the junkyard will give me $65.00 for it.

^^That would be great. I have the ratcheting type on the back of my pop-up and hate them./

hawkdoc60 mine used to be a pop-up camper but the fabric ripped and it would cost to much to replace for what it was worth since it was an older camper so I thought I would get more use of it as a enclosed trailer I'm almost done just have to put the floor down and swap to an axle that will put the tires on the outside. Only took two days to weld up the skeleton for it.

Very nice. My wife and I have discussed doing the same thing when we upgrade to a bigger camper. Our pop-up is a 21 year old Coleman Columbia. It would make a good utility trailer when it outlives its usefulness as a camper. There are a lot of parts on it that are getting worn out and are hard to find replacements for.

They are great little trailers, but when they get a few years old, the parts sources seem to dry up.

I know how the Toyota owner felt, sometimes you just get tired of fooling with a car and don't even want to go to the trouble of parting it out, you just want it gone, and you know someone that can use it, and give them a call ....

You can call one of the charities like the Kidney Foundation and they'll take the car and give you a receipt for a charitable deduction that you can use if you itemize deductions on your income tax, but it can be a pain waiting for the guy to come pick it up, you have to be at home and all.

So sometimes "Hey, you want this? Take it." is the right solution!

My paternal grandfather got paid $25 to remove a couple of ancient black walnut trees when a local golf course sold nine holes to be used as a new housing development. He sawed and dried the wood from both which was used in many a retirement wood working project; with a lathe, planner, band saw and other tools in his shop. Three nice grandfather clocks, chairs, tables and a plethora of smaller items.(a one-time logger with five logging companies of his own over a lengthy career spent in the woods)

The first pic is one early in his career, a painting from a photo done by Eugene, OR artist Ken Brauner. The second is a 180' bridge built in a day with four 180' logs done in '60 he'd come out of retirement to do for his friend Sam Agnew; which three college-trained engineers said couldn't be done.(over the Pistol River south of Gold Beach, OR which stood from then until '93 when washed away by a flood) A fellow born in 1897 who succumbed to cancer in 1986, he'd battled more or less successfully from his mid '50s.(supposed to've been caused by a chip of wood lodged in his upper lip logging in his 20s)
