Ya DSMs are the best bang for the buck. I got my first and it only costed me a xbox 360. A few hours later I went from 10psi of boost to 16psi with just some minor hacks. Neadless to say, it broke traction through 3 gears and barked into 4th.

I have a complete front sub frame that very well might be fabricated to fit into the festiva and accept the 4G63-T. The intake manifold has me alittle confused.

Better yet, the parts car that was gave to me will be the perfect frankenstein. I am going out to measure the whole front end and engine bay on both cars. I am going to measure the front subframe on both and start making calculations. I want a ff powered 4g63 festiva. I might have to do away with the inner fenders untill something can be made but the 4g63 will sit in the festivas engine bay.

Wiring harness, ECU, all sensors, all turbo parts, and a complete DSM chassis to dismantle and fabricate to fit the festiva. I believe I have everything including a welder and torches.

This wont be simple and may take a year or 2, but since I have seen someone else attempt this, it is my turn.

seriously, do it! that would be so awesome. wiring would be the easiest thing, just put the complete dsm harness in there. i have been wanting to do a mid engine sr20de festiva (fwd sr20 out of a sentra) but i just don`t have the fab skills.

I have everything to do it. The hard part would be cutting down the DSM front A arms and bolting them to the dsm subframe. I am hoping the A arms are the same length. That would save a bunch of fabrication. The whole front end of the festiva would have to be removed in order to make things fit snug.

If I can clear the fire wall and have room for the radiator with the turbo and everything installed, everything will go smooth. I could shorten the rack on the DSMs steering system and possibly fabricate and adapt to the festivas steering system.

The main things that I am worried about:

          Fire wall clearence
          radiator clearence
          steering setup/ clearence
          DSM subframe adapting and clearence

Well after measuring everthing on the DSM and the festiva, I have come to a conclusion. The Talons engine bay is about 4" longer and wider then the festiva. If this was to be done 2" of firewall would have to be removed, and the whole front radiator support and part of the reinforcement would have to me removed. It is very possible but it wouldnt be street legal seeing that most of the front end would be removed.

The really only logical way would be a MR installation like some have done. I am not going that route. I guess I will have to stick with the mazda b serie engines. I have a few more ideas but they involve the 4Xf1 engine and I am not even sure they have the same side tranny. Any of your ideas would be helpful.

Finding either car around here is almost impossible. I got lucky enough to even own 2 turbo DSMs. The mirage wouldnt be to hard. I was hoping to hell I would have been able to drop the 4G63 into a festy. With 15-20 lbs of boost would have made for a junkstang killer for sure. I am still thnking about it. I could get a slim SMIM made for the 4G and possibly run a slimmer radiator but I still have the 2 fans that would need installed. Its really a complex swap once you scope everything out and measure.

I would say a newer festy or aspire would deffinatley work.

I gave my Festiva to my brother in trade for a 1988 festiva LX, and a 1992 festiva L. I am taking everything off the 88 LX and making a 1992 LX out of the L.

My brother is in the middle of the truck conversion and I do have to say that it is looking pretty good so far.
