Company decal removal

I know we have some body men on here.......

I need to remove the company logo and decals off an F250 I bought from my employer.
My plan was to get a cheap heat gun from Harbor Freight, a 6 pack of beer and an afternoon. Then follow up with some Goo-B-Gone and rubbing compound along with a buff/wax job. I also saw an "eraser wheel" designed for decal removal. Any professional advice on technique or specific name brands of products to use?

Very little heat is required...a hair dryer would be adequate...to much heat could be a disaster.

i have used the eraser wheel alone with great success on pinstripes

I'd go the eraser wheel approach....after 6-12 beers your depth perception may not be as crisp as it is when you are sober.... actually got in off of the MAC tool truck. Came with 10 replacement wheels. I haven't even went through one yet and I've removed all the decals off of two company s-10 trucks.

As long as the decals are newer they can be taken off relativly quickly with a little heat. Just take a hairdryer and see what you can do. If its coming off easily in big pieces go for it, if not use the eraser wheel. The wheels take some time but the results are worth it. I took 30year old decals that covered both sides of my old F-250 with eraser wheels and after a quick wax you couldnt tell the difference.
