Got a question for you car nuts out there. I'm trying to track down my first car for kicks. Before the mid 80s the VIN records are iffy at best so using Carfax doesn't necessarily help. Do any of you know of a way to track an older car down through sale records, etc if you do not have the VIN? Unfortunately the paperwork I have is smudged and I can't get the full VIN.
Now to ease the curiousity. I was at a local car show Saturday night talking with some guys about our first cars. Out of the bunch there were a couple of us that had cars that raised some eyebrows because of the year, make, etc. So we decided each of us would try to see what, if anything, we could find before the next show. Like I said it's for kicks but I would love to find my first car (if it still exist).
