  • new festiva owner

Hey guys/girls, I just picked up an 89 Festiva L for $225 that runs, drives, and isn't rotted out underneath at all other than a little floorpan rust. It needs a head gasket and maybe some carb tuning (idles high) but just thought I would introduce myself since I may be posting and asking for some input on getting this little thing running allright! Neat little cars and glad there is an informative forum for them. I'll post up a pic or two here soon.
02 Super Duty XLT 4x4 7.3 $12,000.00 (still paying on)
00 Grand Am GT 3.4 $6,000.00 (still paying on)
    89 Festiva L 1.3 $225.00 (paid off 1st day!)

Hey -- that is a pretty good little car there...keep it safe !

Best of luck for driving her, I have an 88 L in black charcoal color, but probably end up as a parts car more, for an 88 white LX. I literally saved the black one from a crusher re-cycler guy moments before its demise....
Got it going, and driving, but a lot is issues before I found this white LX needing front deer damage repair...(how come I alwys find the junky ones??)

HA thats the same thing that happened with me and my 88LX! Just remember theyre never junky ones. They sometimes need more TLC than others or theyre waiting for their chance to help another Festiva live on.
Is that a factory sunroof or an aftermarket one?

Yeah back in the day I loved it, and a few years ago when I started getting into forums that was the 1st name I could think of and now I use it for just about everything!

...I'll take care of it, I HAVE given up on a project 85 Mustang in the past (deep regret) mainly because affording high performance parts was draining us, but this should be a lot cheaper and more reliable!

I can't tell. It is siliconed shut and thats a bummer, after it's running allright I may work on that though considering summer is right around the corner
