    Lost my only key!

    Hey guys,

    I haven't been able to get around to getting spare keys made for the festiva, and the inevitable happened; what do i need in order to get another key made?
    Current cars:

    1993 Ford Festiva 5-Speed - Festiclese III - Cousin of the Banhammer - "The Jalopnik Car"
    1984 Toyota Cressida - 2JZGE Swap, Turbocharged.
    2013 Mazda Mazda2 - Exhaust and Wheels (the daily)
    2002 Toyota Tundra - V6/Auto/2WD - The Tow Vehicle.

    if your lock cylinders are the factory ones then you could probably get a dealer to make one from a vin or pull one and have them get the code off of it.

      pull the passenger side cylinder and take it to a locksmith.
      Trees aren't kind to me...

      currently: 2 88Ls (Scrappy and Jersey), 88LX, 90L(Pepe), 91L, 91GL (Skippy) 93 GL Sport (the Mighty Favakk), 94 (Bruce) & 95 Aspire SEs, 97 Aspire (The Joker),
      94 Justy 4WD, 87 Fiero GT, plus 2 parts cars. That's my fleet.

        When I needed a key for my car I took the passenger lock out of the door and took it to the locksmith. There is a code stamped on it that they read to make the new key.

          How hard is it to pull the cylinder out?

            It's really easy....once you take the door panel off you will see what needs to be done. You just unhook a small plastic piece and slide a metal clip off that holds the cylinder to the door.
