  • Today was my lucky day!

well today me and no pstn (Chris) went to the junkyard, a few other members and some escort guys where suppose to come too but everyone bailed at the last minute. Anyways Chris was in need of a 5 speed, i figured this certain junkyard would have one. They always seem to have a few aspires and festivas. So we got there all the aspires where automatics but we did find an old festiva thats been in the lot for a while, it was a 90L plus, its pretty much all stipped down, the only left was the trans, engine, and a homemade cruise control set up. so we wrenched on that car for about 45 minutes and got that trans out no problem. The only thing i was hoping to get today was a set of aspire rear drum cable adjusters (mine where frozen) well i forgot about those as we headed to look at the other imports and as i was telling Chris if he ever sees a Kia Sephia in the junkyard with a BP to let me know, just as i said that Chris said like this one? i couldnt beleive it!!! the kia sephia 94-97 are pretty rare espically up north. up until today finding one of these cars is like a needle in a hay stack, i was so excited the car was pretty complete engine and trans both in tact. So about after 2 hours of messing with the kia we finnaly got that trans out. I wish i would of had more money to grab the intake and intermidiate shaft. It was a good day and got to make another Festiva friend.

My nephew has a decent 97 Sephia he says he wants to demo derby. Not sure why cause it looks pretty good to me. So whats up with the sephia festiva wise ? I may have to buy his since they are driving a new Mercury and apparently dont care much about the KIA. Its been sitting on the farm for a while now.

The trans is a "better" G-series & the motors a BP so its kinda a nice place for engine/trans upgrades

the junkyard i went to has alot of kia sephias, I have never seen what a 94-97 looks like until yesterday. I usally check ebay but i never have seen one, usally theres alot of them with the 1.6 engines. kia also made a 1.8 in 98 but that is there own engine, so dont get that confused with a BP
