I have had 2 morons hit my cars in the street. And now that I think about it both women. And I know 2 ladies across the street have hit my neighbors cars and a visitor (female) was next door and backed into a car across the street.

I never thought about it until now but wow.

How'd you know what she said? :p She wasn't blonde.

Check out damage in pics. When the hood is closed you don't see any of this but getting the hood open is difficult.

          I feel your pain dude.

My wife backed into WhiteOne IN THE DRIVEWAY. She came in crying to tell me. Luckily it was a few weeks before I got to start on the rest of the car. But the damage was huge. Now I call it BlackandSilverOne. I wasn't happy but like Damkid said 'it's only a car' plus I didn't want to ruin my wifes confidence or mess with her head. Just not worth it.

yeah they are only cars, but at the same time inattention of that nature is what can cause major accidents. even someone nearly blind could see an object behind them if they bothered to look.

big wheel, ive heard that line before, i was a cop long time ago. i can sure understand why you are upset. hope you get it fixed ok.

Thanks guys for letting me vent a little. I'm okay now but was just frustrated yesterday. My pet peeve about driving is people not paying attention to what's going on around them and, bless her heart, she wasn't paying attention.

I'm going to get an estimate on getting the car fixed but I may just work a deal with her to buy parts/paint to fix it myself. I'm really afraid that the insurance company will not handle this well and I'll come out on the wrong end of the stick. You really have to know what to look for to see the damage so if I can just get the hood latch straightened out Hot Rod should be fine.

Cars can be fixed (for the most part) so all is good. I was very nice to her in person but had to vent somewhere. Oh well.

Here's an update. I took Hot Rod to one body shop and they wouldn't even talk to me about repairs. I spoke to another via a friend who works there and he wasn't very hopeful about getting insurance to pay without taking the car. All I wanted to do from the beginning was do the right thing as I know this was an accident. So with that said my wife and I prayed about the next right step and that God would show favor in how to proceed.

I took my truck to my regular mechanic this morning to have some minor repairs done. In talking (he's very familiar with HR) he told me he had the tools to straighten the front rail and hood latch and we could do this at no charge. He got me a really good deal on a new radiator and gave me some tips on how to make some of the other minor repairs myself. So with that I called the lady and gave her the option of me going through her insurance company OR I would take $150 for all parts and I would do the work myself(this would cover just the mechanical parts). I think that's a pretty good deal. To my surprise she wasn't satisfied with my options. She felt I was being too generous and said it would make her feel better to pay me $250 this Friday. She said she just wouldn't feel right doing anything less. Now, how many people do you know that would offer more than what you're willing to accept for such an event? With the $250 and the free help from my mechanic I can get a new grill, radiator, hoses, paint the bumper, fix the minor dents in the hood, straightened the hood latch/rail and get the front aligned.

                  Not bad favor huh?

That's Awesome! The damage in the photo's doesn't look too bad...just check and make sure that your wiring harness isn't mangled or torn. Just about anything you can't reshape can be picked up at a junkyard or off a parts car for cheap. My sister hit a deer and we just replaced the front end.
