water pump pully

from what other vehicles does a water pump pulley fit the festiva? how do you check a water pump pulley to see if it is warped when it is off the vehicle/

Mazda 323, Capri with B6T. Most likely there alot of B series engines that will work.

the proper way to check it is with a dial indicator....but if you knew what that was i would not have asked the question.

First watch it while it running....not only the edge of the pulley but the belt also best between the water pump and the crank....they should appear straight at idle.

Secondly...pull the belt...place a small stiff piece of something..a small ruler would be ideal...and hold it up firmly against the wheel well or timing cover The stick/ruler should barely rest on the top of the pulley. Place a mark on the stick or get a reading off the ruler. Holding the ruler firmly...spin the water pump and see if the mark changes

BP one will work too, or you could swap over to an aspire setup and have a muli-rib belt system

i got one from a protoge and the water pump pully in the dome area where the bolt holes are is shallower and it makes the pully clear the timimg cover a little better.

Did you add any kind of spacer under the crank pulley to regain belt alignment?

it did not change it that much just a little as i can see from a side view
