Ford had a special offer looking for 100 people to apply as test drivers for the Fiesta at www.fiestamovement.com I found out one day to late to apply. The test agents get a car for 6 month's to "test" and evalueate. Check out the website!
I just hope that they will make it up to some of our events so more of you can give the car a trial. I drove the lime colored 5 spd, and it was a blast!
They are headed to VA & NC now.

the euro spec model, what will be difference with the production models here? anything? will the performance be watered down from the euro spec model, seems like they usually are. i like the 3 door better, but dont they look like a more finished focus? any idea on the mpg ? test driver, that would have been a cool assignment.

However, I still see overpriced, overoptioned cars for my taste.
I'm pretty much resolved I'll never be the least bit tempted to buy a new car in my life. When my Festivas get older, I may buy an Echo or ZX-2 or even a Focus to carry on.
Mostly stripped, of course. And if I have a family, then I'd go for a bigger car and allow my wife to make most of the decisions. (I'll still have a little fun car for me.)
Here would be the stats for a new car to tempt me:
Price: Not over $10K for the base model I'd want.
Curb weight: Not over 2000 pounds.
NO "POWER" OPTIONS!!!! At 2000 pounds, that means NO POWER STEERING.
A "power" engine, or one that I can mod.
As low tech as possible in its execution. High tech can be used to support the low tech design, though.
15" wheels at the most. I'm not a fan of bigger and bigger everything, ad infinitum.
My mantra: ALL GO, NO SHOW, LEAST DOUGH.
Simplicity defined.

California is the closest to Western Canada they will be going with the "Drive" events according to the website.
5 Dr Hatchbacks and 4 Dr Sedans are what are coming unless they are looking to relace the Mexico built KA I would think
Base price is set to be 12,000 to compete with the Yaris crowd
1.6 Ltr 120 HP engine is what is *supposed* to be the powerplant
The ATX car had an 89HP 1.4 Ltr that they said would not come over here
38 MPG mixed is the stated fuel economy
That been said.... I sure hope they don't change it much from the car I drove.....
the handling was VERY good, and the closest to Curmudgeons Bilstein/FMS setup
that I have driven in this small of a package..... but without the NVH that our cars have.
