festiva egt harness

who hear has swaped the bp moter into a festiva but used the egt harness?
i am wanting to do it and would like to know what i have to do and what i might need?

i have swapped a BP into a festiva, and honestly the time it would take to swap the harnesses would take a LOT longer than the time it would take to modify a festiva harness,

i would highly recomend just modifying the festiva harness, it really is just that easy to do

yes but i already have swaped a efi harness into the car but i am having alot of problems with small things with the festiva harness

oh you've also converted your car from carbed to EFI?

yeah i did and i have alot of like small problems with things and cant fix them because i don't know how and what is causing it

what kind of problems are you having?

ok i turn the lights on the cooling fan comes on insted of lights and the blower fan will come on as well if on high with no key in or turned on. the horn goes off when you turn wipers on high and pull twords you like trying to use washer fluid and i have no dash lights at all like the check engine lighs or break light when the key is in the on position and the cooling fan will come on when the key is on as well

:shock: after hearing that, maybe pulling the harness out and starting over wouldn't be such a bad idea

so what all is diffrent be sides the plugs i had to add and strech like on the colum and for the dash?

When you were splicing things together, did you just guess as to which wires did what or did you have both wiring diagrams to go by?

i had matts guide i printed it out and did all the steps and every thing the way he said to do it

What ecu are you running? BP09 for a 5 speed or a BP10 for an auto?

The colors might be different on the wiring harness, hence the issues of headlights switch controlling the fan... You probably should find a new harness. I dont think anybody has done a complete EGT wiring swap but it can only be as hard as the xr2 swap where you need the entire harness...
