  • Got my red car insured today!

I put insurance on my car so i can drive it to a safety/emissions and dam it feels good to drive this car finally!! loads of power!! great braking, great handling and looks awesome!! Fred did a great job putting this car together, thats for sure

I drove it to work today and a few guys wanted me to take them for a ride, i think they liked it too i think i scared the one guy cause i don't think he quite expected that kind of power

i also went for a drive and pulled up beside a Ford F-150 ext. cab, and when the light turned green he floored it, well i figured i couldn't let him win, so i floored it as well, spun like crazy through first gear, and when i shifted into second i looked over at him, smiled, and let the boost kick in and watched him get smaller in the mirror

now just to get the safety/e-test done

    1988 323 GT - B6T Powered
2008 Ford Escape - Rollover Survivor

1990 Festiva - First Ever Completed KLZE swap (SOLD)

If no one from the future stops you from doing it, how bad of a decision can it really be?

i'm just waiting for it to be 100% legal before i do anything too stupid

Here in Ontario, there is a law stating, when you purchase a vehicle if you put insurance on it, you have 6 days from the date of purchase to transfer plates on to it, so i only switched the title into my name yesterday, so according to that, this is my second day owning it, so i have 4 more days to transfer plates onto it

hey, whats your property tax on your festy? mine was 6 dollars.
it'll do the 1/8 in 13.7, spin tires, and make all my drunk buddies giggle.

Property tax? do you mean just the taxes i had to pay when i switched into my name? i paid $8 for taxes on this car, but i also told them i only paid $100, which is a lot less then the actual cost

                        $6 and $8 a year?? am i missing something?
when you get tags for any car new or used, they go off of the sell price, or what the car is valued, whichever is HIGHER. I paid $100 for the car, but the tag agency said it was worth $600.. so i paid whatever the percentage rate of $600 was...
then annually, its the straigt fee for tags, like $40 something.

Sorry to stray off topic, congrats Damkid on getting this bad boy on the road!

EJP he is in Ontario, and the other guy is in NC so everyone has different rules. Here it is 8.5% of the sale price if you have a signed bill of sale for the cost of the car(if you don't they check the KBB price and take 8.5% of that). Then it is about $40 for two years of registration and tags, plus your car insurance.

Here in Ontario, or Canada for that matter, we have two government taxes GST & PST, the GST is 5% and the PST is 8%, and when you buy a vehicle privately, when you register it into your name you have to pay the PST tax, so 8% of $100 = $8 sales tax, and thats a 1 time tax that i have to pay

Once the safety is complete, i'll only have to get it e-tested once every two years and thats it to keep it on the road
